I have just created a simple 3D model pin in 3DS max. This is part of my training in 3D and Animation. This is a really simple task. I used the cylinder shape, and then modified it. From there I continued to add in more details using the Editable modifier.

You can download and use this 3D model for free.

3D Model Cup (3D modelling and Animation beginner)

This is my second 3D model since I began practicing 3D and Animation. This 3D cup was created in 3Ds Max which is the software I’m practicing 3D modelling from. Some aspects of the 3D model were easy to achieve. Others game me some hard time trying to achieve the real Cup in 3D. The most difficult part was the area between the actual cup and the handle. I tried many different ways; I separated the handle from the cup using the clone tool and later rejoined it. But I found out that that was just pointless. I could have used extrude and modelled the handle right on the object. My intentions were to extrude the handle from the cup, clone as a single object, model it into shape, and then rejoin it using the bridge tool. That didn’t work! I guess you know why… Continue reading →

This is my self made 3D cup which I have just created in 3Ds max. As you can see it’s really a very simple object and it took me a very short amount of time.  Hopefully very soon I’ll be able to tackle much more complex shapes.

My first 3D Object [3D & Animation beginner]

By admin on July 23, 2010 in 3D modelling

A few days ago my interests in 3D and Animation started expanding, but I’ve always admired 3D and Animation from a very young age. I guess this interest came from the artists’ portfolios especially the fantasy works on CG websites. How they created the objects to be so realistic was amazing. So recently I’ve managed to find the time to start exploring 3D and Animation and the software is installed and ready to start learning to create some interesting CG works, I have chosen to use 3DS max because I think it’s the most popular besides Maya also because I liked the tools I saw from the 3D videos I watched. I like Autodesk as well.

So keep reading the following posts that I’ll post in the future because most will be 3D and Animation related. I’ve gone through some tutorials and below is my first self made 3D object. Isn’t that good for a beginner? Expect to see more of my other works soon!

Creating the object I use the Bevel modifier only. I kept changing the values to create the object from the text splines.
